1943/44 Gibson Banner LG-2

Sometimes a guitar shows up that gets us all excited, and this is one of those guitars. Made in Kalamazoo during the Second World War it features a very rare Mahogany top and what we figure was an old stock neck from a 30s archtop (given wartime rationing, specs on Gibsons through those years are all over the place due to the availability of parts and materials). While small, the LG-2 has great volume and cut with a fantastic balance across all of the strings. Shows a lot of playwear but everything is stable and we recently refretted it and replaced a bridge that someone had replaced poorly in the past. This one really needs to be heard.
